Maira is a lawyer who graduated from the University of Zulia in 1984. Maira has 36 years of experience in legal consulting and national and international litigation, in the areas of Civil, Family, Commercial and Agrarian Law. Maira founded Rivera Fernández & Asociados and has served as its president for 22 years, becoming a reference for excellent legal services at a regional and national level.
As part of her professional experience, she has served as an external auditor for legal and natural persons and has served as the legal representation of more than 60 nationally recognized companies engaged in various activities in the private sector, such as banking and financial entities, as well as the construction sector, civil engineering and agricultural activity.
In addition to this, she has presided over complex negotiation and strategy processes, defending the interests of her clients in various highly sensitive matters such as inheritance, divorce, various family matters and conflicts between shareholders of commercial companies, among others. Likewise, she has provided legal advice and representation in civil, commercial, administrative and agrarian proceedings in court.
Before her professional practice at Rivera Fernández & Asociados, she worked as a trial lawyer at the Baralt, Rincón & Asociados Law Firm and has held various positions, including 8 years as the director of the administrative board of Arrendadora Maracaibo, C.A. appointed by the Superintendency of Banks, FOGADE and the Ministry of Finance in 1996.
Maira has been a professor at the Ethics and Professional Development Legal Clinic at the University of Zulia, she has actively participated in various pro-bono cases and has received recognition for her work. She was conferred the Dr. Arminio Borjas award by the Federation of Venezuelan Bar Associations, in recognition of her professional and personal merits.
