Fernando Javier Baralt Briceño

Fernando is a lawyer who graduated from the University of Zulia with the academic distinction magna cum laude. He has a Diploma in Public Law from the Institute of Constitutional Studies, a diploma in Human Rights from the University of Zulia, and a specialization in Procedural Law from the Catholic University Andrés Bello, with the academic distinction summa cum laude.

 

As part of his professional experience, he was the rapporteur of final and interlocutory judgments in a court of first instance based in Maracaibo with competence in civil, commercial, maritime and constitutional matters. He also served as a secretary in a civil court of first instance and in a municipal court.

 

Fernando joined Rivera Fernández & Asociados in 2016, where he has dedicated himself to give legal advice and legally represent a number of clients.  His work had been focused on contractual, administrative and agrarian law, and on the attention of economic criminal proceedings. He has specialized in challenging administrative decisions, appeals procedures and the protection of fundamental rights in different litigation cases. He also works as a justice assistant in some courts, where he has been appointed as a party in disputes.

 

Apart from his work, Fernando is a teacher and researcher. He teaches in the subjects of Contracts, Civil Procedural Law and Protection of Human Rights at the Rafael Urdaneta University. During his time as a student he was a teaching and research trainer and he was distinguished by the Zulia State Legislative Council with the Zulia Youth Merit Button and by the Academic Vice President of LUZ with the Diploma for Outstanding Merits in the Scientific Area.
